NATHAN BURROUGHS & LINDSAY JAY

Flow Dance was born on the vibrant island of Ibiza, where the pulse of the world-renowned electronic music scene meets the heart of a thriving wellness community. Inspired by this dynamic blend, Flow Dance offers a unique path for holistic connection, self-expression, and transformation.

Lindsay has guided people through movement for many years, but her move to Ibiza a decade ago deepened her journey into somatic and trauma-informed practices. Through facilitating these sessions, she has witnessed people reconnect with their bodies, transforming pain into empowerment and restriction into expansion. Her approach helps others drop out of the thinking mind and into embodied presence, unlocking profound shifts in awareness and liberation.

Nathan has been soundtracking people’s lived experiences for over 30 years, working across industries from hospitality to health and fitness. He views music as a tool to transcend thought and touch a more subtle, personal experience of how something feels. His deep understanding of rhythm and vibration allows him to craft soundscapes that guide people on an internal journey, helping them connect to their bodies and emotions in a way words often cannot. Whether through uplifting beats or grounding tones, his music creates a container for exploration, release, and self-discovery.

Together, they’ve created a sensory journey through music and movement unlike any other. This revolutionary collaboration unites them in a shared mission: helping people reconnect with themselves.

“I hope that through this practice, people will not only connect more deeply with themselves but also experience the joy and transformation that music and movement can bring to meditation.” - Lindsay

  • Connect

As the music comes in, you’re invited to explore gentle, intuitive movement. This phase helps you establish a deeper connection with your body, breath, and the earth beneath you. With mindful awareness, you warm up, tune into your sensations, and prepare to stay present for the journey ahead.

  • Move

The rhythm builds, encouraging dynamic and expressive movement. In this phase, you surrender to the music, allowing your body to move freely and spontaneously. The pulse of the beat invites exploration and release, helping you drop into the flow state, where the dancer disappears, and only the dance remains.

  • Release

The music softens, guiding you into slower, more reflective movements. This phase allows you to integrate the experience, let go, and relax your nervous system. The re-emergence of the drone supports a gentle return to stillness, helping you feel safe, regulated, and complete as the practice comes to a close.

Movement

Flow Dance Meditation integrates somatic principles, emphasizing the body’s role in processing experiences and emotions. Research on somatic experiencing shows that movement-based therapies can regulate the nervous system, reduce trauma impact, and release stored emotional energy. A 2017 randomized controlled trial highlighted these benefits, supporting the use of mindful movement for mental well-being. By exploring tension and imbalance with curiosity, Flow Dance Meditation promotes resilience, embodiment, and presence.

Music

Music profoundly influences the brain, enhancing neural connectivity and emotional processing. Neuroscientific studies show that listening to music activates regions linked to creativity, memory, and motor function. A 2019 study revealed that music synchronizes brain activity, fostering states of flow where self-consciousness dissolves and immersive presence arises. In Flow Dance Meditation, carefully curated soundscapes guide the nervous system, facilitating emotional expression and cognitive integration.
